More Information

Style: Napoleon III
Nephew of Napoleon I, Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte was elected President of the Second Republic in 1848 before becoming Emperor Napoleon III in 1852 following a coup d'etat.
Napoleon III style is one of the most interesting even if nothing is really novel with elements borrowed from preceding styles. Based on the taste of the period, Japanese, Chinese and Oriental art brings a richness, abundance and eclecticism specific to this period.

Mirror

AED 1,800.00

A handsome mirror always adds an extra touch of elegance to any interior. Antique French gilded mirrors look just as good in a modern interior as they do in a classic one.
The frame of this mirror is decorated with a foliage motif. It features a pediment with a central crest surrounded by two Griffins. The "Griffin" is a legendary creature found in many ancient cultures. It is represented with the body of an eagle (head, wings and talons) grafted onto the back of a lion (abdomen, legs and tail), and equipped with horse ears.
The griffins on this mirror have unfortunately lost their heads, but the mirror has lost none of its charm.
