Lovely mahogany "encoignure" in the English taste, dating from around 1900. A "encoignure" is a small triangular piece of furniture—such as a cupboard or shelving unit—designed specifically to fit into a corner, a popular solution from the eighteenth century onward to optimise space. This one is meant to be wall‑mounted.
Behind the glazed door, framed with a scalloped moulding, two interior shelves offer practical display. Above, three open shelves provide plenty of space to put on view small decorative objects with charm and originality. The warm tone of the mahogany adds depth and character, making it an attractive accent in any room.
