This charming Napoleon III style pedestal dates from the end of the 19th century. Made of light oak, delicately carved, it is topped by a fine green marble. In a staircase, an entrance or in front of a window you can place a lamp, flowers or a plant on it.

Nephew of Napoleon I, Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte was elected President of the Second Republic in 1848 before becoming Emperor Napoleon III in 1852 following a coup d'etat.
Napoleon III style is one of the most interesting even if nothing is really novel with elements borrowed from preceding styles. Based on the taste of the period, Japanese, Chinese and Oriental art brings a richness, abundance and eclecticism specific to this period.
