This splendid Napoleon III style lamp dates from the end of the 19th century. It was electrified with a very nice fabric cable. When switched on you can admire its engraved globe, when switched off it will make a very attractive object of decoration.

Nephew of Napoleon I, Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte was elected President of the Second Republic in 1848 before becoming Emperor Napoleon III in 1852 following a coup d'etat.
Napoleon III style is one of the most interesting even if nothing is really novel with elements borrowed from preceding styles. Based on the taste of the period, Japanese, Chinese and Oriental art brings a richness, abundance and eclecticism specific to this period.
