Charming vintage Louis XVI–style lamp dating from the 1970s. Its alabaster stem rests on a gilded square base, and the delicate lampshade is adorned with small roses. The alabaster body adopts the silhouette of a baluster vase, directly inspired by the archaeological discoveries of Pompeii in the 18th century. The central section is decorated with a carved beaded frieze, a motif characteristic of the Louis XVI decorative repertoire.
The square marble base is topped with a finely chiselled bronze mount featuring acanthus leaves and geometric friezes, both typical of the style.
A lovely piece that will work beautifully as a bedside lamp, in a living room, or placed on a console in an entrance — it’s up to you to decide where it will shine.

The Louis XVI style is classical, inspired by Antiquity, the shapes are geometric, the legs of the furniture are straight and light, often fluted.
