This medium‑sized Directoire‑style trumeau, dating from the 1950s, has a soft beige colour highlighted with delicate gilded accents. The simple fronton is adorned with small golden flowers, giving the piece a discreet charm that feels both refined and easy to place. Its clean lines and understated ornamentation echo the Directoire spirit (1795–1799), where elegance comes through balance and restraint.

Its light tones and harmonious proportions make it wonderfully versatile. Whether placed above a console, a commode or in a quiet corner of the house, it brings a touch of French grace without ever overwhelming the space. A timeless decorative accent that blends effortlessly with almost any interior.

More Information

Style: Directoire

The Directoire style was a style of furnishing and decoration in fashion from 1789 to 1803. Marking the transition between the Louis XVI and Empire styles, it was characterised by sober design and simple shapes. The Directoire style continued the classical tradition of the Louis XVI style, but with a more austere treatment, heralding the Empire style without its heaviness. Simple forms, discreet curves and straight lines without rigidity are combined in great elegance.
