Charming Napoleon III oil lamp from the late nineteenth century. The body, shaped like a baluster vase, is crafted in porcelain and set on a finely chiselled bronze base. The foot displays a delicate celadon shade adorned with hand‑painted floral motifs, clearly inspired by traditional Asian porcelains — an influence that was very much in vogue at the time. It is topped with a pleated lampshade in matching tones, finished with a border of small roses. The lamp has been electrified. Its soft, refined colours give it a gentle, poetic presence.
