Adorn your home with this charming pair of small oval frames in blackened wood, characteristic of the Napoleon III style. These frames encase two captivating figures: a peasant man playing the viol and a peasant woman spinning wool. These figures were created through a unique petrification process, in which petrifying water (high in lime) is poured over molds for weeks until the lime deposits solidify, forming the motif. The result is a stunning appearance reminiscent of ivory.
The decorative appeal of these frames is truly exceptional. Their intricate details and the historical technique used in their creation make them a conversation piece, perfect for adding a touch of vintage elegance to any room. Display them on a mantel, a shelf, or as part of a gallery wall to highlight their unique beauty and craftsmanship.
