This charming pair of Louis XVI-style chairs, dating from the late 1800s, features a delicate green patina that adds softness to their presence. The seats are caned, the frames beautifully carved, and each back is topped with the emblematic ribbon bow so typical of the style.
Time has lent them a gentle aged character, but if you prefer a fresher look, they can be expertly repainted to restore a more polished finish — in keeping with tradition and your taste.
A graceful addition to any space, from bedroom to salon.

Louis XVI, who reigned from 1774 to 1789, is remembered as the last absolute monarch. The French Revolution of 1789 overthrew the monarchy by divine right and Louis XVI was guillotined on January 21st 1793.
The Louis XVI style is classical, inspired by Antiquity, the shapes are geometric, the legs of the furniture are straight and light, often fluted. However, under the influence of Marie-Antoinette, the ornaments are enriched with musical and rural attributes, ribbon bows giving a delicate touch to the furniture.
