A stunning pair of vintage "chauffeuses" chairs dating back to the 1950s and inspired by the Napoleon III style. A "chauffeuse" chair is a small, low chair, often without armrests, characterized by a low seat and a high back, designed to provide a comfortable seating option near a heat source like a fireplace. Historically, it was ideal for warming up ("se chauffer"), hence its name, and was placed near fireplaces. These particular chairs have been reupholstered in a magnificent deep red fabric that perfectly captures the spirit of Napoleon III. Whether placed in a bedroom, an entryway, or a corner of a living room, they are sure to catch everyone's eye.
