Traditionally designed to display silverware, the argentier differs from a classic display cabinet through its three glass sides. The very beautiful argentier I am presenting here, in the Louis XV style, dates from circa 1880.

With its mirrored back, three glass shelves, and a lower velvet‑lined tablet, it offers an ideal setting for your most precious pieces. Its marquetry in fine woods and its delicately embossed brass and bronze ornaments are truly splendid, highlighting the elegance of the whole. I am particularly fond of the draped motif adorned with tassels beneath the gallery, framing the warm ochre marble that crowns the piece.

A rare cabinet, as decorative as it is precious — perfect wherever it can catch the light and draw the eye, enhancing your treasured objects with quiet refinement.

More Information

Style: Louis XV

Louis XV, known as the "Beloved" reigned over the kingdom of France from 1715 to 1774, he was the only king of France to be born and die at the Palace of Versailles.

The Louis XV style is characterized by its elegance and lightness. It is recognizable by the grace of the curved legs of the furniture with "pied de biche"(deer foot).

The wood is natural, gilded or painted. The "rococo" style ornamentation is inspired by nature and exoticism.
