I am pleased to present this exceptional set of three French cabriolet armchairs from the 1950s, crafted in the Louis XVI style and made of high‑quality walnut with remarkable attention to detail.
These pieces stand out for their rare “fer de pelle” backrest, a more unusual shape than the classic oval medallion or the chapeau de gendarme. Their trapezoidal back, gently curved, follows the natural line of the spine to offer optimal comfort.
Although they are shown here in their original condition, the price includes a complete professional restoration as well as your choice of fabric from my exclusive collections, allowing you to harmonize these armchairs perfectly with your taste and interior décor.
As you can see in the photographs, they bring a refined presence when placed on either side of a desk or in an entryway, especially when upholstered in a dark, classic fabric. However, since cabriolets were originally intended for the living room, they can also be transformed with a patterned fabric to soften their lines and return them to their convivial purpose.
I look forward to seeing how we can work together to bring these beautiful walnut frames back to life and integrate them into your home.

Louis XVI, who reigned from 1774 to 1789, is remembered as the last absolute monarch. The French Revolution of 1789 overthrew the monarchy by divine right and Louis XVI was guillotined on January 21st 1793.
The Louis XVI style is classical, inspired by Antiquity, the shapes are geometric, the legs of the furniture are straight and light, often fluted. However, under the influence of Marie-Antoinette, the ornaments are enriched with musical and rural attributes, ribbon bows giving a delicate touch to the furniture.
