This beautiful piece is indeed a tea table. And if you think I may have made a mistake in the description… just have a look at the other photos. Joking aside, it is indeed a magnificent Louis XV–style tea table dating from the mid‑19th century.
It carries with it not only the charm of its marquetry — inspired by the Boulle tradition, with checkerboard patterns and fine stringing in very good condition — but also the quiet presence of a piece that has crossed generations. The bronze mounts, of remarkable finesse, enhance its elegance and speak to the craftsmanship of a period when furniture was conceived as both art and heritage.
When closed, you can place it against a wall like a small commode or a console. For your receptions, simply open it: the marble top allows you to set down drinks without worry, and the four folding leaves offer space for your guests to rest their cups and small plates.
An original and truly beautiful piece — one that embodies both refinement and the enduring spirit of French decorative history.

More Information
Style: Louis XV
Louis XV, known as the "Beloved" reigned over the kingdom of France from 1715 to 1774, he was the only king of France to be born and die at the Palace of Versailles.
The Louis XV style is characterized by its elegance and lightness. It is recognizable by the grace of the curved legs of the furniture with "pied de biche"(deer foot).
The wood is natural, gilded or painted. The "rococo" style ornamentation is inspired by nature and exoticism.
