Lovely Louis XV secrétaire dos d’âne dating from the late 19th century, crafted in walnut with a beautifully contrasted interior in bird’s‑eye maple. The fall‑front is adorned with a marquetry motif of an urn and delicate branches, framed by a toped brass gallery and finely cast bronze mounts that give the piece its unmistakable French elegance. Inside, the light maple reveals small drawers, compartments and even a discreet hidden drawer, while the writing surface is lined with warm fawn leather. A poetic and practical desk, ready to hold letters, notes and quiet moments in any refined interior.

Style: Louis XV
Louis XV, known as the "Beloved" reigned over the kingdom of France from 1715 to 1774, he was the only king of France to be born and die at the Palace of Versailles.
The Louis XV style is characterized by its elegance and lightness. It is recognizable by the grace of the curved legs of the furniture with "pied de biche"(deer foot).
The wood is natural, gilded or painted. The "rococo" style ornamentation is inspired by nature and exoticism.
