This lovely solid walnut table, in the neo–Louis XVI style, dates from circa 1900. It can be used as a centre table, as it is symmetrical and its apron is carved on all sides. It also features a drawer and would work beautifully as a console in an entrance hall.
It is topped with an ochre marble, not original to the piece, and the shape of the top — with its softly rounded sides — gives it a particularly elegant silhouette. The marble allows you to place plants, vases, or glasses without worry, so you are free to decide how it will serve you best. In any case, it is a piece that will not go unnoticed.

More Information
Style: Louis XVI
Louis XVI, who reigned from 1774 to 1789, is remembered as the last absolute monarch. The French Revolution of 1789 overthrew the monarchy by divine right and Louis XVI was guillotined on January 21st 1793.
The Louis XVI style is classical, inspired by Antiquity, the shapes are geometric, the legs of the furniture are straight and light, often fluted. However, under the influence of Marie-Antoinette, the ornaments are enriched with musical and rural attributes, ribbon bows giving a delicate touch to the furniture.
