I’m so happy to share this magnificent pair of Louis XV “fauteuils à la Reine” with their generous high backs.
Dating from the late 19th century, they are remarkable for both their quality and their elegance — from the beautifully carved wood to the soft grey patina that highlights every detail.
They’ve been reupholstered with a tapestry featuring a placed horn‑of‑plenty motif, giving them a unique blend of originality and classic French refinement.
If you sometimes find French chairs a little on the “small” side, these will absolutely win you over: their large, comfortable proportions offer all the space you could wish for, without ever compromising on style.
Wherever you place them — in a living room, a bedroom, or a reading corner — you can be sure they will draw every eye and bring a touch of timeless French charm to your home.

Style: Louis XV
Louis XV, known as the "Beloved" reigned over the kingdom of France from 1715 to 1774, he was the only king of France to be born and die at the Palace of Versailles.
The Louis XV style is characterized by its elegance and lightness. It is recognizable by the grace of the curved legs of the furniture with "pied de biche"(deer foot).
The wood is natural, gilded or painted. The "rococo" style ornamentation is inspired by nature and exoticism.
