Here is a lovely Louis XV–style commode, instantly recognisable by its serpentine front, its three drawers, and its elegant gilt‑bronze ornamentation.
The marquetry is beautifully crafted, with geometric motifs sometimes referred to as “rosewood cubes”, and it is topped with an ochre marble slab.
The gilt‑bronze handles, sabots, and keyhole escutcheons complete the look with a touch of classic French refinement.
This is a high‑quality French reproduction from the 1950s, made with great care and attention to detail.
I’ve always loved commodes because they are wonderfully versatile: they work just as well in a living room, a bedroom, an entryway, or even on a landing.
They also make a perfect stage for your lamps, vases, candlesticks, and can be beautifully paired with a mirror or a painting above.
A commode becomes truly yours depending on how you choose to style it — and this one is ready to bring elegance, warmth, and personality to your home.

More Information
Style: Louis XV
Louis XV, known as the "Beloved" reigned over the kingdom of France from 1715 to 1774, he was the only king of France to be born and die at the Palace of Versailles.
The Louis XV style is characterized by its elegance and lightness. It is recognizable by the grace of the curved legs of the furniture with "pied de biche"(deer foot).
The wood is natural, gilded or painted. The "rococo" style ornamentation is inspired by nature and exoticism.
