In French, this type of daybed is called a méridienne, a name that comes from the word midi, as it was traditionally used for resting at midday.
This one is a late‑19th‑century piece in the Napoleon III style. It has been reupholstered in a delicate rose‑toned damask fabric and comes with three matching round silk cushions. The graceful curve of the backrest and the tufted upholstery give it a feminine, elegant presence that naturally invites daydreaming.
Despite its age, it remains solid and comfortable enough for everyday use — a charming piece with real softness and character.
