A lovely pair of Louis XV rocaille–style lamps, finely chiselled . They were inspired by the traditional rat de cave (French cellar candlestick). The original model was a simple hand‑forged iron candlestick used in Burgundy’s wine cellars, designed to remain stable on uneven surfaces and to light dark spaces. Over time, this practical form inspired more refined versions, such as this pair.
They are now topped with beautiful pleated lampshades in a warm gilded tone that complements the brass perfectly. Ideal as bedside lamps, they will also find their place anywhere you wish to add a touch of character and soft, atmospheric light.

Style: Louis XV
Louis XV, known as the "Beloved" reigned over the kingdom of France from 1715 to 1774, he was the only king of France to be born and die at the Palace of Versailles.
The Louis XV style is characterized by its elegance and lightness. It is recognizable by the grace of the curved legs of the furniture with "pied de biche"(deer foot).
The wood is natural, gilded or painted. The "rococo" style ornamentation is inspired by nature and exoticism.
