Named after the popular card game "bouillotte," which was all the rage at the end of the 18th century and traditionally played on this very table, it combines historical charm with functionality. The edge typically includes two drawers and sliding shelves, while the top is adorned with marble framed by a stylish brass border. For added versatility, a felt mat could be used for card games.
The table I’m presenting retains all these classic features but is designed lower, much like a contemporary coffee table. Adorned with a beautiful white marble, brass and dating from circa 1920 in the Louis XVI style, it seamlessly fits into modern living spaces while offering a touch of timeless elegance.

Louis XVI, who reigned from 1774 to 1789, is remembered as the last absolute monarch. The French Revolution of 1789 overthrew the monarchy by divine right and Louis XVI was guillotined on January 21st 1793.
The Louis XVI style is classical, inspired by Antiquity, the shapes are geometric, the legs of the furniture are straight and light, often fluted. However, under the influence of Marie-Antoinette, the ornaments are enriched with musical and rural attributes, ribbon bows giving a delicate touch to the furniture.
