This charming Louis XVI–style bouillotte table dates from the 1920s. Made in sipò, it is topped with a grey marble encircled by an elegant brass gallery. Its fluted legs end in bronze sabots, and the table stands out thanks to its additional ornaments: a row of brass beading along the lower edge of the apron, and small bronze fleurons placed at the top of each leg. These details bring a soft luminosity to the wood and heighten the refinement of the piece.
It also carries that unmistakable French sensibility — the way our decorative arts balance restraint and elegance, how a simple line of brass or a discreet motif can change the entire atmosphere of a room. It is the kind of table one finds in old Parisian apartments or in the salons of French maisons de famille, where beauty is never loud, simply present.
A versatile accent table that will settle naturally into a living room, an entrance hall, or a reading corner, and will bring that quiet, decorative presence we love so much.

More Information
Style: Louis XVI
Louis XVI, who reigned from 1774 to 1789, is remembered as the last absolute monarch. The French Revolution of 1789 overthrew the monarchy by divine right and Louis XVI was guillotined on January 21st 1793.
The Louis XVI style is classical, inspired by Antiquity, the shapes are geometric, the legs of the furniture are straight and light, often fluted. However, under the influence of Marie-Antoinette, the ornaments are enriched with musical and rural attributes, ribbon bows giving a delicate touch to the furniture.
