This elegant pedestal table is a fine example of the late Napoléon III style. Dating from around 1900, its silhouette perfectly reflects the aesthetic of the period.
The dark wood with its deep patina was highly appreciated for its refined appearance.
The finely turned baluster legs and the small circular wooden gallery showcase the craftsmanship of the cabinetmakers of the time, who reinterpreted earlier styles with a lighter, more decorative touch.
The structure features two tiers: a circular top and a lower shelf that adds stability while offering additional display space — a practical and decorative element commonly found in late‑19th‑century bourgeois interiors.
Today, this piece fits beautifully into a contemporary home, where its slender form will dress a corner with elegance. It looks wonderful with a plant or a generous bouquet, and also makes a perfect stand for a sculpture or a lamp.
Antique furniture never goes out of style — it adapts, bringing character and soul to our interiors.
